About AMSEMI -N Foldback (Snap-back) TVS
AMSEMI is one of the domestic manufacturers mass-producing Foldback (industry term: "Snap-back") TVS, and its -N series is a leading domestic option for low-clamping TVS selection:
- Series and part numbers: three power classes — 5.0SMDJ**CA-N (5000W, VR 24–100V, 23 voltage classes), SMDJ**CA-N (3000W, VR 24–90V, 13 classes) and 8.0SMDJ**CA-N (8000W, VR 48–90V, 11 classes). All are in DO-214AB (SMC), certified to AEC-Q101 automotive grade (automotive part numbers use the base P/N plus an
-Hsuffix). - Identical clamping across the three power classes: at the same voltage class, the VBR and maximum clamping voltage Vc of the 3000W / 5000W / 8000W parts are exactly the same (69.6V at the 54V class); only the surge current Ipp differs (34.4A / 57.5A / 91.8A) — so moving from 5kW to 8kW needs no board change and no recalculation of downstream margin.
- Clamping voltage: at the same voltage class, about 20% lower than a conventional 5.0SMDJ — 121.0V down to 96.8V at the 75V class, and 87.1V down to 69.6V at the 54V class. VRWM, VBR range and Ipp are identical to the conventional part, so replacement needs no board change.
- Selection value: with a lower residual voltage, the main-loop MOSFET can drop one voltage class (for example a 20S LiFePO4 pack from 120V to 100V), which shows up directly as lower BOM cost.

Note on the MOSFET line: per the manufacturer's plan, AMSEMI added a MOSFET packaging & test line in 2026, and in 2027 medium/low-voltage MOSFET will become its main product line, combined with the existing TVS portfolio for the BMS market — that is, approaching battery protection boards with a matched "low-clamping TVS + medium/low-voltage MOSFET" combination, so that protection devices and power switches come from the same manufacturer. About HOPERF CMT-series isolators
HOPERF's CMT series uses silicon-dioxide (SiO2) capacitive isolation technology and is certified to UL1577, DIN VDE V 0884-11, CSA, CQC and TUV. Four product families cover the complete isolation chain for energy storage and industrial applications:
- General-purpose digital isolators: CMT812X (2 channels) / CMT804X (4 channels) / CMT826X (6 channels), up to 150Mbps, 9ns typical propagation delay, CMTI up to ±250kV/μs, with selectable default output high / low (fail-safe);
- Isolated interfaces: CMT1042 / CMT1052 isolated CAN (CAN FD 5Mbps, ±70V bus fault protection), CMT83085 isolated RS-485 (12Mbps, 1/8 unit load, 256 nodes), CMT810X isolated I2C (bidirectional auto-direction, 1.8~5.5V level shifting);
